Phil Wickham's "This Is Amazing Grace" was honored with RIAA Gold Certification for both sales and streams of the song off of his 2013 project, The Ascension. The hit single was the most played song on Christian radio for 2014, topping Billboard's 2014 Christian Airplay Song Year End Chart at No. 1. In addition to sales and radio success, the song is No. 2 on the US chart of CCLI, recognizing it as one of the most-often-sung worship songs in the church today.
"I am blown away with how the Lord has used 'This Is Amazing Grace'," says Wickham. "For the song to reach this achievement is such an honor and I'm so grateful."
His project Children of God is expected to release in April 2016.
Wickham is set to tour alongside Newsboys, Jeremy Camp, Mandisa and more on The Rock and Worship Roadshow 2016, presented by Compassion International.

Fox To Air Live Musical Event 'The Passion' Hosted by Tyler Perry
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox will air a two-hour live broadcast of religious musical The Passion to be hosted and narrated by Tyler Perry live from New Orleans on Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016, and feature "a cast of yet-to-be-announced stars performing a variety of popular music."
Set in modern times, The Passion follows the dramatic and inspirational story of Jesus of Nazareth as He presides over the Last Supper, and then is betrayed by Judas, put on trial by Pontius Pilate, convicted, crucified and resurrected. The story will unfold live at some of New Orleans' most iconic locations, culminating in a procession of hundreds carrying a 20-foot, illuminated cross from Champion Square outside the Superdome to the live stage at Woldenburg Park on the banks of the Mississippi River.
The Dutch version has been produced annually since 2011 and has built on its audience every year since.
“The Passion is one of the most exciting and compelling projects that I have ever been involved with,” executive producer Adam Anders said. “I cannot wait to bring the greatest-story-ever-told to life through music, in a way that has never been heard before. To be able to create new arrangements of some of the biggest songs of all time to create a live ‘film score’ is a creative dream for me.”
The Passion also fits in the trend of increased religious fare on TV following the staggering success of The Bible miniseries on History in 2013. However, similar projects the followed (CBS' The Dovekeepers and NBC's A.D. The Bible Continues) pulled in more modest ratings earlier this year.

'Rich in Faith' Brings Young Pastors to Reality TV Spotlight
As a MTV executive, Rod Aissa helped develop "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica." Now at Oxygen Media, believes he's found equally engaging young marrieds who will appeal to today's millennials. However, the couple featured in "Rich in Faith" are pastors, not pop stars.
The reality show features Rich Wilkerson Jr. and his wife DawnChere as they launch a youth-oriented Miami church, Vous, and grapple with balancing work and home life.
"What I liked about it for Oxygen is the overlay of the discussion of faith," Aissa said. "We know from brand research ... that traditional things like family and relationship to God and spirituality are still high on their (the audience's) list."
Rich Wilkerson brings a celebrity connection to the series: He married Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, but the Wilkersons say it's their relationship with God and parishioners that's important, not TV celebrity or its trappings.
"So often it's really easy, especially for people of faith, to sit around and report negatively about the status quo of where our nation is or where entertainment is," said Rich Wilkerson.
"Our idea was to do something that's encouraging, that's positive out there. We want to show people you can have faith, even in this busy, chaotic world we live in right now," he said.
Faith and reality TV have become close companions. A number of shows are based on families for whom religion is a visible part of their lives, including UP's "Bringing Up Bates," in its third season. Others focus on the clergy, among them Oxygen's "Preachers" franchise that started in Los Angeles.
"Preachers of LA" was criticized by some who said the show could foster the inaccurate idea that preachers are in it for fame and wealth.
Hollywood's fascination with pairing reality and faith has dubious roots, said Dave Johnson, a film and TV writer-producer.
"It's like the old circus, with the sideshow tent," Johnson said. "They'll use little people, they'll use Christians, they'll use tattoo people. It's a group of people (industry executives) don't really know or understand or are part of, and think they're interesting to watch."
That's fine, he added, if the show is created and produced honestly, citing "Bringing Up Bates" as an example. He had yet to see "Rich in Faith."
"If they chose someone who is genuine and true, who believes and lives that faith, then the show will reflect that faith honestly," Johnson said.

Tonight, Jordan Smith as part of the Top 12 performed "Great is Thy Faithfulness;" last week Emily Ann Roberts performed "In the Garden."

"Coming off the weekend and the horrible things that happened over in Paris and kind of having a heavy heart the past few days," Blake Shelton begins. "Thank you for that. It was beautiful."
The 33 Opens in Top 5 at Box Office
The 33 opened in 5th place with $5.8 million. Headlined by Antonio Banderas, the Chilean miner drama didn't sufficiently leverage its solid, "A" CinemaScore, but at least those that saw it—73% of which were over 25—seemed to enjoy it.

Rudy & Hoosiers Writer Brings Us Another Inspirational Movie
From the writer of "Rudy" and "Hoosiers" comes "My All American," the inspirational real-life account of University of Texas football player Freddie Steinmark, whose life was cut short by cancer.
Steinmark was a committed Christian who believed in the power of prayer and whose brief life impacted many. In "My All American" he is portrayed by actor Finn Wittrock, who told The Christian Post that Steinmark's core values set him apart from others. Wittrock asserted that people who knew the former Longhorn football player called him the "best person" they had ever known.
In the film, Steinmark's zest for life is contagious. Wittrock even noted the inspirational character's impact on his own life, saying that playing Steinmark was "a very healthy thing" for him "mentally and spiritually."
Aaron Eckhart plays Steinmark's coach, Darrell Royal, the character with which the movie begins and ends. Eckhart said he wanted to be involved with the film because of its positive message.
"He [Steinmark] stood strong in his beliefs and that's a good message right there, that's a good example for kids today. I think, if anything, Freddie's example as a respectful, well-mannered, humble, appreciative, loving kid is something that every kid needs to see."
"My All American" is in theaters now.

Denzel Washington: "There's never been a time where God didn't direct, protect, and correct me"
Two-time Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington star of many hits including "Glory," "Remember the Titans," "The Book of Eli" and "Training Day" has sounded like a pastor when he took to the podium at recent events.
He made headlines as the guest speaker for Dillard University's graduating class this spring and encouraged graduates to "put God first."
The actor expressed similar sentiments last weekend at the Church of God in Christ's annual "We Care" Charities Banquet in St. Louis, Missouri where he testified of God's faithfulness, even when he has fallen short.
"There's never been a time where God didn't direct, protect, and correct me," Washington passionately attested. "There may have been times where I was less than faithful to Him, but he had faith in me."
Washington has maintained his faith throughout his successful mainstream career and has not shied away from sharing it, publicly saying that he reads the Bible every day.
While onstage at the "We Care" event, Washington vowed that from that point on in his life he would make a conscious effort to "get up and speak about what God has done" for him.
"Give thanks for blessings every day. Every day. Embrace gratitude. Encourage others. It is impossible to be grateful and hateful at the same time," he continued.
The member of Los Angeles Church of God in Christ continued with a public prayer that he frequently uses when speaking to groups.
"I pray that you put your slippers way under your bed at night, so that when you wake in the morning you have to start on your knees to find them. And while you're down there, say 'thank you,'" Washington implored.
According to FOX2 St. Louis, more than 1,000 people attended the "We Care" banquet, including gospel singer Cece Winans.
"Faith and optimism can add years to your life," Washington concluded in his address. "A bad attitude is like a flat tire. Until you change it, you're not going anywhere."

Scott Stapp to Record Single About His Mental Health Struggles & Talks Creed Reunion
Scott Stapp tells Billboard he'll hit the studio during December to record "Up From the Ashes," which will be released in January as part of an initiative with the National Alliance For Mental Illness "to really raise awareness and try to fight the stigma of mental health." The song is part of Stapp's recovery from a meltdown last fall, which saw him post a series of alarming social media messages claiming to be broke, homeless and under government surveillance.
Entering treatment, Stapp was diagnosed as bipolar and manic depressive. Shortly after, he reconciled with his wife, Jaclyn, both of whom went on to appear in the current season of VH1's Couples Therapy With Dr. Jenn.
"I'm excited about this campaign," Stapp says, "and I'm excited that I'm afforded the opportunity to speak out about this epidemic we have in our country, to help fight stigma and hopefully connect with others who are suffering out there in silence, and families that are suffering in silence, not knowing what to do with a family member who's in the throes of mental illness, and really point them in the right direction to where they can get help. Hopefully we can be a catalyst to help someone who's suffering to feel like it's OK to ask for help. I think it's also part of my healing process to feel like this all has purpose and that I can pay it forward."
Stapp says the "Up From the Ashes" song "comes out of this experience directly and sums up my experience of the last year in one song." It's also one of a number of songs he's been writing for a follow-up to his second solo album, Proof of Life.
Stapp plans to be rocking when he heads out on tour, starting with three dates in South Africa during December and then a 17-date North American tour that heads out Jan. 14 in St. Petersburg, Fla. This will be his first public run since his breakdown, and while Stapp is "horrified" by what happened, he's also pleased to have finally been diagnosed.
"There's most definitely a sense of relief, especially knowing that it can be treated and I don't have to suffer anymore and that I actually have a plan of action in terms of how to maintain my health and not ever go back to those dark places that I've been battling with for 20 years," says Stapp. The plan includes not only medication, but daily 12-step meetings, intensive physical workouts, meditation and prayer. "I've spent the last year really working on myself, reconnecting with my wife and my kids and just focusing our attention on healing and rejuvenation to get to a healthy place and move forward. It's been a difficult year but also a very healing year. It's like coming to the end of a really difficult 20 years, and it feels good. It feels like there's light and a new chapter and a new beginning."
Stapp is also hoping for a fresh start with his band Creed, which has been dormant since 2013. He participated in a golf tournament with drummer Scott Phillips, during which the idea of a reunion was discussed -- and not ruled out.
"The consensus is we'll address it once we've all finished with the projects we have scheduled over the next year and a half or two years," Stapp says. "The Creed conversation will come up again in a couple of years and we'll see how it goes. It's kinda up in the air. Right now what me and Scott Phillips talked about and bounced around was possibly the end of 2017 as being the first little window of opportunity that might work for Creed, but nothing has been set in stone."

Justin Bieber Takes Reporter to Church And Says 'I Was Close to Letting Fame Destroy Me'
Justin Bieber is making news with his recent Billboard interview, but post-interview was notable as well. The pop star capped off the night at a church service in which his pastor, Judah Smith, preached, "Jesus is God.
The service was held in the ballroom of the Beverly Wilshire hotel. Bieber took a front row seat and with him was a Billboard magazine reporter. The entertainment publication went as far as sharing pieces of the sermon, quoting Smith as he said, "He's the relationship and the friendship you've been craving your whole life. If you believe that with all of your heart, every ounce of your being, I'm going to count to three, and then I'm going to ask you to lift up your hand."
As Bieber conducts a promotional tour for his upcoming album Purpose on November 13, he has been bringing mainstream media on his faith journey.
During his interview, the singer admitted that he did not always understand his faith and questioned his pastor a lot. "I'd come and listen to him and try to hear him out. I had all these questions and things were not adding up. 'Well, why is this, then? How did all those animals fit on Noah's Ark, then?'" he told Billboard, "That's what it's all about – not questioning it."
Bieber and Smith have now built a rapport in which they send each other messages daily. "We text almost daily, and it's not just me sending him Bible verses anymore," said Smith, "He'll send them to me, along with encouraging thoughts or an encouraging emoticon. I'm committed to helping him and protecting him, but it's fair to say we're there for each other."
Just this year during an interview with Complex Magazine, Bieber declared that Jesus is the greatest healer.

Hugh Jackman Returning to His Christian Faith?
When he steps onstage to perform in the play "Broadway to Oz" in Australia this month, star Hugh Jackman plans to surrender his performances to God.
"Before I go onstage every night, I pause and dedicate the performance to God, in the sense of 'allow me to surrender.'" Jackman revealed to Parade magazine during an October interview.
The actor, who rose to international fame as Wolverine in the "X-Men" franchise, likens his relationship with God to that of Christian runner Eric Liddell in the film "Chariots of Fire." While Lidell's sport helped him connect to God, Jackman believes his live performances do the same.
"I'm a religious person. This is going to sound weird to you. In "Chariots of Fire" the runner Eric Liddell says, 'When I run, I feel His pleasure,'" he told Parade. "And I feel that pleasure when I act and it's going well, particularly onstage. I feel what everyone's searching for, the feeling that unites us all."
Jackman said he knew he wanted to be an actor after having a spiritual encounter at the age of 13.
"I'm a Christian. I was brought up very religious," he said. "I used to go to different evangelists' [revival] tents all the time. When I was about 13, I had a weird premonition that I was going to be onstage, like the preachers I saw."
In a 2010 interview with GQ Magazine, Jackman recalled his father motivating him in high school to strengthen his faith.
"I think it was during my high school years. Although I don't remember a specific moment, I certainly remember my father brought us up to believe a spiritual life was the only life to be had," the actor told GQ. "During high school is when being taught that and thinking it for myself came together."
Five years ago it seems Jackman adopted a broader vision concerning faith.
"I'm a little broader in my thinking. ... Some people may think I've gone off track, I'm not sure. But for me, if you put Christ, Buddha and a few other people at a table together, I don't think they'd be arguing," Jackman previously told GQ. "I think there's an essential truth to most of those [religions] and that's probably what I believe in now. Ultimately, it's the idea that we are much more unified than we are separate, and that includes the religions we've created around the world — there is an essential truth there."
Even though the thespian was not identifying himself as a Christian in the 2010 interview, he was not opposed to it.
"My father is still a committed Christian," he previously told GQ. "I don't have any arguments with anything I interpret from that faith."

Leah Remini - It's Never Too Late To Reconnect With God
It's never too late to reconnect with God.
That's the message that actress Leah Remini hopes to convey in her new tell-all Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. Along with a message of hope, the memoir intends to pull back the covers on the secretive and often mysterious Church of Scientology, a religion that Remini espoused for over 30 years.
After her 2013 split with the organization, which counts high-profile celebrities like Tom Cruise and John Travolta among its members, the star now freely speaks her mind.
"We really want people to know it's never too late to start again," she said during an interview for "Good Morning America" Monday.
After leaving the Church of Scientology, Remini and her actor husband Angel Pagan have re-emerged as Catholics. The "King of Queens" actress insists that she has always had roots in Catholicism — despite serving more than three decades in Scientology.
"I was always religious. I was baptized as a Catholic. I got my daughter baptized as a Catholic," she said in the GMA interview. "I'm reconnecting with my faith. It's been a beautiful thing."
One of her reasons for reconnecting was Remini's 11-year-old daughter Sofia.
"I didn't want my daughter to choose the [Scientology] church," she said.
Earlier this year, Sofia was baptized in a ceremony that her parents shared on social media.
"A very special day for our little girl and her Godparents @crabichuk wanted to share with all of you #baptism #catholic #newbeginnings," Remini, 45, wrote on Instagram.
The family has begun to share much of their life on the TLC reality show "It's All Relative," and Remini's husband also expressed how much of a beautiful experience his daughter's baptism was while revealing his own ties to the faith.
"For the record @leahremini and I have always been Catholic! Why we waited so long to baptize Sofia! Hmmm ...," Pagan wrote. "Anyway it was a beautiful experience and our little angel is on her way to a more spiritual existence. God Bless!"
Remini responded to her husband questioning why their daughter was not baptized before the age of 11, insisting that she was now old enough to understand what was taking place, unlike babies who are frequently baptized as Catholics.
"Happened at the right time. Our daughter was aware of what she was accepting," she tweeted."And that was beautiful to witness."

World Series Champ Ben Zobrist: 'Victory Belongs to the Lord'
With the Kansas City Royals winning the World Series Sunday night, Royals second baseman Ben Zobrist explained who the real winner was when asked about his emotions on winning his first World Series.
The veteran, who made it to the World Series in 2008 as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays, knows what it's like to make it to the big game, only to walk away empty-handed.
Zobrist, the son of an Illinois pastor, asserted that no matter the amount of preparation the players put in, God is the one who emerges as the true victor.
"This is incredible, a very prepared team, everybody is prepared but, you know, you prepare the horse for battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord," Zobrist stated. "I am so thankful to be a part of this. I am just thankful."
The two-time All-Star, who is married to Christian singer Julianna Zobrist, has been vocal about his Christian faith all throughout his playing career.
In an interview with Baptist Press, the Zobrists' pastor, Byron Yawn of the Community Bible Church in Nashville, said that Zobrist has such an influence on his teammates that he is like a "missionary" working in the MLB mission field.
"The consistency of the godliness of his life is a natural attraction to a diversity of personalities on the team," Yawn added.
In an interview with the Florida Baptist Witness, Zobrist explained that, even as a baseball player, he holds a responsibility to represent Christ as best he can.
"Like anybody else that goes and does their job, there's a way to do your job with excellence," Zobrist said. "You want to represent Christ well with doing you job, first and foremost, because that's what you're there to do."
The Zobrists have authored a book titled Double Play, which offers insight into the couple's devotion to God, family, music and baseball.
According to Breitbart, the couple's devotion to each other is so great that they have made a pact to never be apart for more than six days at a time, even though Zobrist spends more than half of the year traveling in and out of baseball stadiums throughout the country.

In a recent interview, The Voice's Jordan Smith shares how growing up in Harlan Kentucky impacted him as a person, his appreciation for being "surrounded by people who love God and who encourage each other" and how that impacted his faith. And how does faith sustain him now?
Deepest Dream: Does your faith also help you through the joys and hardships that you experience in life?

Stryper's Fallen Tops Charts
With the October 16th release of their ninth studio album, Fallen, Stryper continues to dominate the hard rock/heavy metal scene. The release landed at #2 on Billboard’s Hard Music Albums chart, #2 on the Contemporary Christian Albums chart, #5 on the Current Rock Albums chart, and #44 on the Billboard Top 200.
In addition, Fallen soared to #1 on the iTunes Top Metal Albums chart and #3 on the iTunes Top Rock Albums chart immediately upon release.
"We are truly blessed to still be making music 32 years into our careers, music that relates and speaks to our fans worldwide,” says frontman and album producer, Michael Sweet. “We strive to outdo ourselves with each release and hopefully we've done that with Fallen. Here's to 32 more years!"
The Associated Press recently decreed, "If this were 1986, this album would easily sell 2 million copies. But it's not, and that's a shame, because 2 million people need to hear how good this album is."
Metal Onslaught Magazine recently raved in their first ever 10 out of 10 review, “Like a fine wine Stryper have improved over time and have become legends in the metal genre,” and CCM Magazine declared, “Arguably the most game-changing Christian rock band in history, Stryper continues to excel with a steady stream of new music that fits right alongside a ten million-album selling catalogue.”
The music video for the single, “Pride,” premiered exclusively at Billboard.com and can be seen here: http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/6730798/stryper-pride-video-premiere-fallen-album-exclusive
Stryper is one of the top Christian rock bands of all time. Rocking since 1984, the band is responsible for such '80s metal classic albums as Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With The Devil and In God We Trust. In fact, Stryper is the first band to ever have two songs in MTV’s Top 10 simultaneously with their hits “Free” and “Honestly.” After a sabbatical for much of the 1990's, Stryper returned strong in the early 21st century. To date, the Dove Award-winning and Grammy nominated band has sold over 10 million records worldwide.

Tori Kelly Praises Justin Bieber for Proclaiming Jesus in Hollywood
During a recent interview, Bieber said, "I just wanna honestly live like Jesus," and his bold statement garnered mixed reaction from fans. Tori Kelly, who shares the same manager as Bieber, applauded him for not shying away from his faith despite the pressures that often accompany fame.
"I think it's awesome the things that he said and the fact he's being so open and willing to step out and be bold and not hide what he believes in," Kelly told Digital Spy.
"I think that's really cool. He's already inspired so many people, but that just takes it to another level, so it's exciting that we're able to be open about stuff like that."
Like 21-year-old Bieber, Kelly, 22, rose to stardom as a teen after being discovered by talent manager Scooter Braun on Youtube. At age 16 she auditioned for Season 9 of American Idol and years later signed to Capitol Records before releasing her chart-topping debut album Unbreakable Smile this year.
While she is a secular artist, the "Should've Been Us" singer has always been open about her Christian faith and notes Bible verse Psalm 91:4 on her Twitter bio as one of her favorite Scriptures. She once tweeted that Jesus is "first in my life."
Kelly is a big CCM music fan and counts Crystal Lewis as one of her music idols.

Katy Perry - Singing Backup for P.O.D. and Dating Relient K Lead Singer?
Pop star Katy Perry wasn't always headlining stadiums - in fact, she first entered the music industry as a Christian artist.
One of her first big TV appearances was as a singer with Christian band P.O.D. on The Tonight Show in 2006.
Footage of that performance has been making the rounds online (watch below), and has been presented by some as P.O.D. with Perry as a 'back-up singer' - a description the band disputes. As guitarist Marcos Curiel said in a statement to Rolling Stone:
The story about Katy Perry & P.O.D. has recently gone viral, but she had another notable interaction with Christian music. In the early 2000s, Katy dated Matthew Thiessen of Relient K.
Perry even made an appearance on stage with the group a few times, such as in her stage diving at a 2003 concert:
Thiessen also found his way into her music. He appears in the demo video for her song "Longshot," playing guitar.

Bieber's New Album 'Banned in Some Muslim Countries' Because Its Christian-themed Cover Art is Deemed 'Too Provocative'
Justin Bieber recently unveiled the artwork for his upcoming album Purpose to some controversy.
The cover art shows a shirtless Bieber looking downwards with his hands posed in prayer and the large cross tattoo on his chest clearly visible.
According to TMZ, that appears a little too provocative for mainly Muslim Indonesia and several Middle Eastern countries.
The Christian symbolism on the Purpose cover has led the album to be banned in those places where it may cause offense, the gossip website claimed.
Bieber's management is said to be trying to devise some alternative images that could be used for cover art.
Bieber has spoken recently about his strong Christian beliefs and how his faith has helped him turn around his life after a period of high-profile brushes with the law and bratty behavior.

Band Releases Innovative 360 degree Music Video
Bread of Stone is creating lots of buzz by releasing a music video in 360 format. The groundbreaking video was created in support of their current single, "Not Alone." In the video, Bread of Stone can be seen sailing on crystal clear lakes, singing beside picturesque mountain vistas and climbing over stunning rock formations. As they sing "you are the stars above me" or "you are the sea below" viewers can actually pan to the sky or water.
YouTube only began supporting 360-degree video earlier this year. The technology allows the viewer to look in any direction, effectively controlling the perspective or point of view. To get the full effect, 360 videos need to be viewed in Google's Chrome browser or with the YouTube app on iOS or Android devices.

War Room Drops to #3 & 90 Minutes in Heaven Premieres in Top 10
hit War Room dropped from first to third with an estimated $7.4M, off just 22%. The Sony film has made $39.2M to date.
Opening in ninth place was the new faith-based drama 90 Minutes in Heaven which debuted to an estimated $2.2M from 878 locations for a lackluster $2,461 average. Based on a best-selling book, the PG-13 pic stars Hayden Christensen and Kate Bosworth and did not connect with its target audience the way many others from recent years have. This was the widest opening for Samuel Goldwyn since 1992's Rock-A-Doodle and the largest three-day total since 2008's Fireproof.
Opening in ninth place was the new faith-based drama 90 Minutes in Heaven which debuted to an estimated $2.2M from 878 locations for a lackluster $2,461 average. War Room Now the #1 Movie in the US. How Long Can It Continue Its Run?
War Room dropped a slight 18% in its second week, taking in $9.3M for the three-day domestic box office and the #1 spot on the charts. As far as the opening films, A Walk in the Woods, with $8.2M, ambled past The Transporter Refueled, which made $7.2M.
Neither of those films could move Straight Outta Compton out of the #2 spot.
The last time that a film failed to open at #1, only to rise to do so later, wasn't that long ago. Inside Out, in its third weekend, took #1 over the Fourth of July holiday, finally moving past Jurassic World, in its fourth week of release.
War Room rose from second to first place thanks in part to a 34% boost in screens. The Sony title raised its total to $27.9M. Nice comparison to Heaven Is For Real and Fireproof.
Universal is reporting that Jurassic World crossed the $1B threshold at the international box office. It's only the fourth film to ever reach the milestone joining 2009's Avatar ($2.027B) 1997's Titanic, ($1.528B) and this year's Furious 7 ($1.162B).

The Willis Family Sings Its Way Into Another Season
TLC has started production on a new season of The Willis Family. The network ordered eight new episodes that will follow the Christian family at home and on the road. The first season averaged 1.4M viewers, and showcased Brenda and Toby Willis and their twelve children as they shared their talents around the country. From singing and dancing to acting and painting and everything in between, the family believes in inspiring others through their art. The new season is slated to premiere in early 2016.
In the new season, viewers will get a deeper look into the family’s life off the tour bus. From birthday celebrations and kids learning to drive, life at home in Nashville is a welcome change of pace from the rigors of being on the road. Being at home, though, isn’t without its hardships. After months of being away, they come home to a shocking surprise, and with homeschooling, scheduling, and extracurricular activities, things around the house are busy to say the least. While the viewers will get a closer look into their lives at home, the family will still be performing at shows of all kind.
Read about their tragic past.

Another Faith Film Shocks Hollywood with Box Office - War Room Opens in Second Place
The faith-based drama War Room delivered a terrific opening in second place despite playing in only 1,135 locations as the Sony release grossed an estimated $11M. The PG-rated movie, which beat Compton (this week's #1 title) in theaters on Friday, had a robust $9,692 per screen average.
War Room, however, was the story of the weekend. Sony's faith-based film from their Affirm division flew so far under the radar that it didn't even get a Cinemascore. But it nearly stole Compton's title and, at the same time, became the biggest hit for the Kendrick brothers. Their modestly-budgeted flicks have a great return on investment. War Room has a reported budget of $3.5M while their 2011 Courageous had a $2M budget, going on to a domestic cume of $34.5. Their 2008 Fireproof had a $33.5M domestic cume on a budget of $500K.

Matthew West Performs at Restoring Unity
Matthew West performed his hit song “Do Something” for the Restoring Unity rally — an event that attracted more than 20,000.
The song carries a strong message about the importance of making a positive personal impact on the world.
“People living in poverty, children sold into slavery — the thought disgusted me,” the song’s lyrics read, in part. “So, I shook my fist at heaven, said, ‘God, why don’t You do something?’ He said, ‘I did, I created you.’”

Chonda Pierce to make Big Screen Debut
“Chonda Pierce: Laughing in the Dark,” a one-night only cinema event will premier in select theaters around the country Tuesday, October 27, at 7 pm.
A deeply personal glimpse into the life of Chonda Pierce, the Christian humorist and best-selling female comedian of all-time, the film chronicles a series of tragic circumstances she recently faced, including the loss of her husband. Leaning on her faith in a season of heartbreak, Pierce perseveres—her signature wit intact—hoping to inspire and encourage others with her story.
"I'm nervous! I have allowed a film crew to expose very tender and private moments in my life simply hoping to continue a dialogue about faith, depression, grief and pain to promote healing for brokenhearted people,” Pierce says. “I love the Church, but it's not perfect. I love God, but life is hard. This movie ‘shows’ it all, not just ‘tells’ it all. Mental illness is not a lack of faith and loving Jesus doesn't exempt you from pain. And being a comic doesn't mean you laugh all the time!”
Immediately following the film, theater audiences will have the opportunity to view a special post-event presentation, “Finding Light in the Darkness.” Various celebrities and public figures, including Roma Downey, Kevin Sorbo, Sherri Shepherd, Monica Crowley, Corbin Bernsen and “Duck Dynasty’s” Miss Kay Robertson, are slated to discuss the impact of Pierce’s story.
“This event really brings to light the importance of having faith through life’s most difficult times,” says John Rubey, CEO, Fathom Events. “Chonda’s ability to use humor to overcome her struggles is truly inspiring and a great lesson for us all.”
“Chonda has always been able to do the impossible,” says “Laughing in the Dark” producer Kent Songer. “She’s the best-selling female comedian in history and at the pinnacle of her career she allows her fans full access into her life. She’s an amazingly brave and talented woman, and I am proud to be a part of this unique Fathom event.”

Reigning NBA MVP Joins Lecrae on Stage
Fans of rapper Lecrae received a surprise at his concert in Oakland when he honored NBA MVP Steph Curry who helped the Christian recording artist perform the song, "I'm Turnt."
Curry, the 27-year-old Golden State Warriors point guard, appeared onstage at Lecrae's tour stop in Oakland, California, last week to introduce "I'm Turnt" and dance alongside the rapper during the entire song.
The basketball star, who recently won an NBA championship for the 2014-2015 season, introduced the rapper's song by glorifying the "most high," saying "that's what it's all about."
After Curry danced onstage to the song during the Aug. 20 performance, Lecrae honored the Christian athlete.
"I love this dude because he really knows what it's all about. As good as he is, as amazing as he is on the court … his character, man, it comes from the most high all day every day," Lecrae told the audience while Curry was onstage before turning to the basketball player. "We love you; we appreciate what you represent man. God bless you."
Curry has been honored multiple times this year, and has made sure that his Christian faith has been at the forefront of it all. During his NBA MVP acceptance speech last May, Curry spoke about his blessings despite some of the struggles he was forced to endure.
"There were obviously good times and bad times. Times I wanted to shut it down," Curry said in his speech, which is featured on the official NBA website. "It just made me feel like how blessed and thankful I am to be in this position."
While the player shared notable memories with his teammates and Warriors staff, he also made it clear that his faith was one of the key reasons for his success.

TobyMac Schools Billboard Top 5
TobyMac’s This Is Not a Test enters at No. 4 with 38,000 units (of which 35,000 are pure album sales). The album is the follow-up to TobyMac’s chart-topping Eye on It, which debuted atop the list dated Sept. 15, 2012.
On the Christian Albums chart, This Is Not a Test concurrently debuts at No. 1 -- the artist’s fourth chart-topper.
The week was a notable one for the music industry.
Luke Bryan celebrates his third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart as his new release Kill the Lights makes a smashing debut atop the list. The album moved 345,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug. 13, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 320,000 were pure album sales.
Thus, Kill the Lights tallies the third-largest week of 2015 for an album, both in overall units and album sales. Kill The Lights’ start is also the largest sales week for a country album in three years -- since Bryan’s last studio effort, Crash My Party in 2013.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Bryan and Dre’s debuts are a welcome sight on the chart, following a woeful week at the top of the list. A week ago, the Descendants soundtrack opened at No. 1 with both the lowest overall unit total (42,000) for a chart-topping set, and the smallest weekly sales figure (30,000) for a No. 1 since Nielsen Music started tracking sale in 1991.
Combined, Bryan's Kill the Lights and Dre's Compton moved 640,000 overall units, and sold 596,000 albums. To put those numbers in perspective, the 640,000 sum is more than the combined total of Nos. 3-32 albums on the new Billboard 200. Further, the 596,000 sales tally -- which places the albums at Nos. 1 and 2 on the Top Album Sales chart -- is greater than the Nos. 3-65 titles on the Album Sales list.
Also, this week marks the first time two albums have sold at least 294,000 units in a week since the Billboard 200 transitioned to ranking popularity based on overall units earned in December of 2014.
And finally, this is the first week in eight months where two albums have sold at least 275,000 copies each. It last happened on the Dec. 27, 2014-dated chart (reflecting the sales week ending Dec. 14, in the thick of the Christmas shopping season).
The new Now 55 compilation debuts at No. 3 with 76,000 units (all from album sales). The arrival continues the long-running Now That’s What I Call Music series’ hit track record, as every one of the numbered Now titles have reached the Top 10.

Matthew West's "Do Something" Is Theme Song for Glenn Beck Event
On Saturday, August 29, Matthew West will appear in Birmingham, Alabama in front of thousands during the Restoring Unity event to perform his hit single "Do Something." Restoring Unity is a two-day event helmed by Glenn Beck which supports his non-profit organization, Mercury One.
When West appeared on Beck's radio show earlier this summer to talk about his new album, Live Forever, the two made an instant connection. And during their visit, Beck soon realized that Matthew West was the artist and songwriter behind "Do Something," the very song that Beck wanted as the theme for his Mercury One event, Restoring Unity. Leading up to August 29, "Do Something" can be heard every day on Glenn Beck's TV show. (To find out more about this event, visit Now.MercuryOne.org.)
With his latest album, West continues his mission to tell a story of a different kind with his music-to transform listeners' stories into life-changing songs.
In between festival dates, last weekend West appeared at Chicago's famed Wrigley Field for the Cubs' home game to sing the National Anthem. He also performed "God Bless America" in front of the packed stadium and went on to watch his favorite team win against the San Francisco Giants.

Antonio Banderas Film 'The 33' Will Highlight Christian Faith of Trapped Chilean Miners
'The 33' is a disaster-survival drama film based on the real events of 2010 mining disaster, in which a group of thirty-three miners were trapped inside the San José Mine in Chile for more than two months. The film stars Antonio Banderas as Mario "Super Mario" Sepúlveda, who sent videos to the rescuers to notify them about the miners' condition.
A new trailer for the upcoming film "The 33," tells the true story of 33 Chilean miners who were trapped over 2,000 feet underground for 69 days in 2010, and provides a glimpse of how the faith of the survivors will be central to their dramatic story.
"We can say a prayer together," says one of the trapped miners, while another responds, "I don't know the words." The first miner answers, "God doesn't care."
The miners had only about three days worth of food and drink if they rationed. After their rescue, the group recalled how God had performed various miracles to keep them alive while they were trapped below the surface.
"Super Mario" (Banderas) is the public face of accident who sent videos to the rescuers to update them on the miners' condition. Martin Sheen, Cote de Pablo, Gabriel Byrne, Bob Gunton also star.
In June 2013, it was announced that Jennifer Lopez has joined to lead the cast of the film but later left due to scheduling conflicts with American Idol. She was replaced by Juliette Binoche.
Producer Mike Medavoy, who also produced "Apocalypse Now," has worked with the miners, their families, and those involved to put the film together.

ESPN.com Premieres TobyMac's Feel It Video
ESPN.com premiered TobyMac's Feel It music video.
TobyMac is no stranger to the world of sports. Not only have you heard his music throughout SportsCenter, X Games, and ESPY Awards programming, Toby shared:
"Sports were very important to me growing up. It played a huge role in my life. I love sports. I did not take piano lessons or guitar lessons or try to write music until I was 17. It was sports for me and my family. It toughened me up, made me focus and compete." Toby went on to tell ESPN Music "Since I was a kid sports have always played a huge role in my life. From high school hoops to college golf, to hearing my songs as a backdrop to the pros, I owe a lot to athletics."
"This Is Not A Test reminds us that there are no practice runs in life – this is it. It is a reminder to use the time we’ve been given wisely. Let’s use this time to love people well, and to be there for people when they need it. What hits me now more than ever is that you really don’t get a practice run at life,” explains Toby. “This is it. In my friendships, raising my children, loving my wife, loving people, performing with my band and stepping on stage at arenas, I want to make every moment count. I want them to walk away saying 'I feel good. I feel like I can love my spouse well. I can love my friends.' I want them to know love is worth everything you put in. If that happens, then I’ve done what I wanted to do. This Is Not A Test falls in line with trying to pursue God in this crazy world."
Stryper to Release 9th Studio Album October 16
Stryper is set to release their 9th studio album, Fallen, October 16. The title track “Fallen” can be heard via YouTube. The original lineup comprised of Michael Sweet (vocals/guitars), Oz Fox (guitars), Tim Gaines (bass) and Robert Sweet (drums) returns with an album of all new material showcasing the musicianship that garnered them a huge fan base in the mainstream world and the Christian market. From the opening choral refrains of “Yahweh” to the signature vocal scream at the end of “King Of Kings,” it is apparent that Stryper is back with their heaviest and most inspired work to date. Fallen was produced by Michael Sweet.
“Fallen is about Lucifer before he became Satan. It’s the story of how he got kicked out of Heaven. He tried to overthrow God and take over,” describes Michael Sweet. “The song talks about how beautiful he was. When he walked, there was music. He was the angel of worship and this incredibly powerful and beautiful being.”
The latest song comes on the heels of the album teaser track, “Yahweh,” that was released last month and has been listened to over 135K times since it went live. “Yahweh” was a musical writing collaboration between Michael Sweet and Sevendust’s Clint Lowery. Tracks like “Pride,” “Big Screen Lies” and “Til I Get What I Need” show that Stryper is back and better than ever. Stryper offers their unique interpretation of the Black Sabbath classic “After Forever.” The band flexes their softer side on the instantly memorable “All Over Again” which continues the journey Stryper fans began almost 30 years ago when “Honestly” was released to mainstream success.

But when she and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault, her world drastically changes as Tim is convicted and sent to prison leaving his two teenagers Cameron (Rhys Matthew Bond) and Mariah (Matreya Scarrwener) teetering on the brink of foster care. Candace Cameron Bure In Final Negotiations to Join The View as Co-Host
After multiple guest-hosting stints on The View, Candace Cameron Bure and Paula Faris are in talks to join the show in a more permanent capacity, Variety reported yesterday.
According to the site, the Fuller House actress and the GMA Weekend co-anchor are in "final negotiations" to become co-hosts for Season 19, alongside veteran panelist Whoopi Goldberg and fellow newcomers Raven-Symone and Michelle Collins.
Per Variety, Faris would keep her GMA Weekend job, appearing on The View Monday through Thursday. Bure, meanwhile, is still figuring out her schedule, but could spend some weeks on The View in New York, and others on Netflix's Fuller House, which shoots through November in L.A.
Both stars — like Symone and Collins, who were announced as official co-hosts in June and July, respectively — have filled in at The View multiple times over the past few months. The show has gone through several casting changes since its premiere in 1997.
Bure made a memorable appearance on the series earlier this month, when she and Symone butted heads over the Oregon bakery that refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple, and was then fined $135,000.
"I don't think this is discrimination at all. This is about freedom of association," the Full House alum said during the July 7 debate. "It's about constitutional rights. It's about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with."
Symone's response? "I refuse to associate with you right now!"

Hillsong Film Director Says He's Not a Believer
The first film about Australian megachurch group Hillsong United will hit theaters in September. Michael John Warren, who directed 'Hillsong — Let Hope Rise,' says working with the group has made him a better person, even though he's not a believer.
The film chronicles the journey of Hillsong United, which began in Sydney in 1998 as a pastime for youth at church, and has since grown into a group with global reach. It's led by Joel Houston, the son of Hillsong founders and pastors Brian and Bobbie Houston, and all 11 band members are either volunteers or employees of the church.
"Their mission — without exaggeration — is to make music to save souls. They are trying to get people to discover Jesus," Warren, who has worked with Jay Z and Nicki Minaj, among other stars, said in a statement on the film's website. "That's probably the most righteous reason to make music. Whether you're religious or not, it's hard to look at that and not feel good about it."
"I'm not a religious person," he added, "but I learned things from working with and becoming friends with the members of Hillsong United. They are lovely people. They are sincerely giving. They are sincerely supportive. I don't believe the same things they believe, but I'm learning from them and I'm taking lessons from them, and I believe I've become a better person having spent a year studying them."
In January, Warner Bros. abruptly pulled the film from its distribution and Relativity Studios will now distribute the project. The film is now slated for release on Sept. 30.
Hillsong, which is headquartered in Sydney, has churches around the world with more than 100,000 weekly attendees, including thriving congregations in New York and Los Angeles. An estimated 50 million people sing their songs every Sunday.

Why Does Young Hollywood Love Hillsong Church So Much?
Hillsong UNITED packs arenas and tops the Christian charts consistently in the United States. They have built quite a following. Interestingly, Hillsong UNITED seems to have hit a chord with a group that has more influence than many: young Hollywood.
This appears to be a natural development out of of the friendship that several young music, TV and movie stars have with the leadership of Hillsong Church. Celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens count the Hillsong pastors as their spiritual mentors. Sports stars such as Russell Wilson and Kevin Durant share similar connections with Hillsong.
And when Hillsong welcomed Justin Bieber to their annual church conference in Sydney, the relationship between Bieber, Hillsong NYC pastor Carl Lentz, and Seattle pastor (and friend of Lentz) Judah Smith was again in the spotlight.
Late in 2014, after an altercation with Orlando Bloom, Justin seemed to have reached a tipping point. As Christian Post reported at the time, he became a regular attendee of Judah Smith's Bible study. The difference in Bieber's life since he began attending that Bible study is evident. After several years of controversial behavior, Bieber appears to have turned a corner.
So what is it about Hillsong that appeals so much to this particular group? It could be the focus on Jesus himself, and their lack of concentration on evangelical 'fundamentalism,' which has fallen out of favor.
Another factor? Judah Smith, Carl Lentz and Hillsong UNITED worship leader Joel Houston, are adept at using social media. With frequent posts on Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter, these individuals provide ways to share the word of Jesus on a medium where these young stars love to share. Hillsong meets these Hollywood elite where they are: online.
