"The Bachelor" star Sean Lowe and his fiancée Catherine Giudici have once again said they will wait for sex until marriage because they are Christian and "proud of that fact."
Three months after Lowe, a Christian entrepreneur, proposed to Giudici, a graphic designer, on ABC's reality show "The Bachelor," the two appeared on "Good Morning America" this week. Host Lara Spencer mentioned that their fans "so connected with" their decision to abstain from having sex until they get married.
"I guess it's because it's so uncommon these days," Lowe, 29, said. "My faith has been the center of my life for a long time and it's the center of her life as well, and that's no secret. We are proud of that fact. We realize that it's viewed as kind of being weird these days, but we are not going to shy away from it. We are unapologetic."
Asked how their relationship has been, Lowe called it "wonderful."
"I went straight into 'Dancing With the Stars,' which was so much more than I thought it would be," he said. "It was really time-consuming. But now that that's over, we have a lot more time to hang out, explore Southern California and just be a couple."
Spencer asked Giudici, 26, what she had learned about Lowe, a Dallas native. "He's such a good owner," she said, referring to Lowe spending time with dogs. She explained that that is a sign that he has the qualities to be a good dad one day.
Giudici, who is from Seattle, went on to say they have not decided when they will get married, but it will be in California. "I was never that girl to think about wedding-day details," she said. "We are thinking about having it in California and that's pretty much the extent of it at this point … We are in no rush."
Their wedding will be televised by ABC.
Lowe told the People magazine in March that they believe in abstinence. "From my perspective, I've lived life kind of selfishly for a long time," he said. "Now, I'm going to try to live it the way I know to be right." Giudici responded by saying, "I honor him."
