Lauren Daigle Takes ‘Good Morning America’ to Church on Live TV

Lauren Daigle continues to make headlines this year after her new album “Look Up Child” debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 chart in September, beating out pop artists like Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Cardi B.

Since then, the Christian artist has appeared on high-profile TV shows like "Dancing With the Stars," "The Tonight Show," and “Ellen."

Though she took some heat for appearing on a show with a gay host and giving a wishy-washy reply to her stance on homosexuality, Daigle continues to live out her calling by spreading the gospel through her ever-growing platform.

Michael W. Smith to Perform on Good Morning America

Michael W. Smith will perform live on ABC-TV's Good Morning America Tuesday, March 13. The appearance was sparked by his two, back-to-back hit albums A Million Lights and Surrounded out now.

Together, the new albums have become Michael's 30th and 31st Top 10 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart, more than any other solo artist in history.

Released Feb. 16, Michael's USA Today, Billboard, Yahoo! Music-acclaimed studio album, A Million Lights, debuted at No. 1 on the SoundScan Christian retail chart while holding the No. 1 position most of release week on iTunes and Amazon's Christian music charts. The recording includes the lead single/video and title track along with "Love Always Wins," "Crashing Waves," "Revolution" and "Footsteps," which was recently added to Spotify's "Top Christian" and "New Music Friday Christian" playlists. Apple Music also featured the album in their "The Hottest New Music" newsletter.

One week following A Million Lights, Michael's anticipated, live worship album Surrounded released (Feb. 23) amidst 5-star acclaim and became Amazon's No. 1 "Hot New Release." The recording features the declarative "Surrounded (Fight My Battles)," "Light To You" and "Build My Life," which Michael also released as a video Feb. 23 on his Facebook and YouTube sites. Parade says the album highlights Michael's "masterful blend of uplifting messaging, brilliant song writing, solid musical talent and a desire to instill faith and hope into his listeners."

Parade will also highlight both of Michael's new albums during a live-stream "Backstory: Music and Conversation with Michael W. Smith" event to be held Monday, March 12 beginning at 7:00 pm EDT from The Cutting Room in New York, NY.

The new albums were further highlighted in an hour-long "Praise" feature on TBN that can be viewed now at TBN.org, while CBN's "The 700 Club" featured Michael and his new projects Feb. 22.

Leah Remini - It's Never Too Late To Reconnect With God

It's never too late to reconnect with God.

That's the message that actress Leah Remini hopes to convey in her new tell-all Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. Along with a message of hope, the memoir intends to pull back the covers on the secretive and often mysterious Church of Scientology, a religion that Remini espoused for over 30 years.

After her 2013 split with the organization, which counts high-profile celebrities like Tom Cruise and John Travolta among its members, the star now freely speaks her mind.

"We really want people to know it's never too late to start again," she said during an interview for "Good Morning America" Monday.

After leaving the Church of Scientology, Remini and her actor husband Angel Pagan have re-emerged as Catholics. The "King of Queens" actress insists that she has always had roots in Catholicism — despite serving more than three decades in Scientology.

"I was always religious. I was baptized as a Catholic. I got my daughter baptized as a Catholic," she said in the GMA interview. "I'm reconnecting with my faith. It's been a beautiful thing."

One of her reasons for reconnecting was Remini's 11-year-old daughter Sofia.

"I didn't want my daughter to choose the [Scientology] church," she said.

Earlier this year, Sofia was baptized in a ceremony that her parents shared on social media.

"A very special day for our little girl and her Godparents @crabichuk wanted to share with all of you #baptism #catholic #newbeginnings," Remini, 45, wrote on Instagram.

The family has begun to share much of their life on the TLC reality show "It's All Relative," and Remini's husband also expressed how much of a beautiful experience his daughter's baptism was while revealing his own ties to the faith.

"For the record @leahremini and I have always been Catholic! Why we waited so long to baptize Sofia! Hmmm ...," Pagan wrote. "Anyway it was a beautiful experience and our little angel is on her way to a more spiritual existence. God Bless!"

Remini responded to her husband questioning why their daughter was not baptized before the age of 11, insisting that she was now old enough to understand what was taking place, unlike babies who are frequently baptized as Catholics.

"Happened at the right time. Our daughter was aware of what she was accepting," she tweeted."And that was beautiful to witness."

Carlos Whittaker On Good Morning America

Whittaker gained overnight popularity recently when he posted a clip of his children’s back-seat sing-a-long to Beyonce’s "Single Ladies" (and the now-famous incident that followed) on his blog last week, little did he know the priceless moment would grab the attention of CBS’ "The Early Show," NBC’s "TODAY with Kathie Lee and Hoda," ABC’s "Good Morning America," AOL, CNN and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” among others, bringing nearly 1 million views to this video on YouTube in less than 4 days.

Whittaker will be partnering with Dillon International Texas, For This Child and Adoption Access adoption agencies in Dallas to bring awareness to the issue of adoption, an issue close to his heart. To bring meaning and unexpected depth to the entertaining moment, the viral video sensation is shedding new light on a subject dear to Whittaker’s heart: adoption. Whittaker plans to harness this recent popularity and use it to help others, by partnering with local adoption agencies on his tour.

The Whittaker’s four-year-old son, Losia was adopted from South Korea in 2006, and he will be using this as a platform to encourage others to adopt and bring awareness to the issue. The first single from Whittaker’s new project, Ragamuffin Soul, titled “God of Second Chances,” penned by Whittaker, Jason Ingram and Phillip LaRue, was partially inspired by Losiah’s adoption. Radio disc jockeys and listeners will not only hear about Carlos Whittaker’s upcoming album, Ragamuffin Soul, but become better aquainted with Carlos, the family man.

A husband and father of three, Whittaker also served as a key planner and teacher at last year’s Catalyst Conference in Atlanta, which drew over 12,000 people. Whittaker can currently be seen on tour with artists Shane & Shane and John Mark McMillan.
