Adam Young (Owl City) has announced via his YouTube channel that he will be releasing two brand new songs from his upcoming full-length album on October 7th. These songs are "Tokyo" featuring the Tokyo-based group SEKAI NO OWARI, and "You're Not Alone" featuring the Christian pop artist (and one of Young's favorite artists) Britt Nicole.
Young shared that "You're Not Alone" is "a bit more weighty" than his traditionally light-hearted and sometimes goofy synth pop.
"It's very much based on my own personal faith and my own personal relationship with God", says Young. His faith is something listeners have gotten glimpses of in the past ("Meteor Shower" and "Galaxies").
Young also hinted that "Tokyo" was written as a result of spending late, jet-lagged nights in the busy city. He is thrilled to share the track with his "new, but very good friends from Japan". Owl City's synth-y tracks mixed with the energy from SEKAI NO OWARI is definitely something to look forward to.
This will be the second release of new music this year from Owl City. His EP Ultraviolet released this summer and featured dance hits like "Beautiful Times" featuring pop/dubstep violinist Lindsey Stirling. Fans will have to wait for more details on the exciting upcoming release of Owl City's fifth full-length album.

Owl City, Tenth Avenue North Fly Into Top 10
Owl City's "The Midsummer Station" premieres at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking the act's third top 10 set. The album's current single, "Good Time" (with Carly Rae Jepsen), has been percolating in the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100 for the past month.
Owl City's last full-length set, 2011's "All Things Bright and Beautiful," debuted and peaked at No. 6. However, the album only spent nine weeks on the charts - a meager total compared to the 56 frames the act's debut album "Ocean Eyes," spent on the list. ("Ocean" was fueled by the No. 1 Hot 100 single "Fireflies.") It's probably safe to suspect that the new album could have a longer shelf life than "All Things" on the chart, thanks to the popularity of his Jepsen collaboration.
Downloads made up 72% of Owl City's first week, as compared to the 38% they accounted for the #1 title. That's not terribly surprising, as digital sales amounted to 48% of the total sales of Owl City's last album.
Tenth Avenue North also debuted in the top 10 this week, as the group's "The Struggle" arrives at a career-high No. 9 and with a weekly sales peak for the act. Over on the Top Christian Albums chart, the set bows at No. 1 -- the group's second leader on that tally.

Owl City's 'Fireflies' Lands At No. 1
Adam Young, better known as Owl City, moves to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Fireflies." The track earns the Digital Gainer honor, moving to #1 on Digital Songs chart. The track also moves into the top 30 of Radio Songs in just its third week. The track's popularity is spurring sales of Owl City's debut "Ocean Eyes" as it leaps into the top 10 of the Billboard 200.
Adam shares on his MySpace site: "I follow Jesus Christ Wholeheartedly. He is my life, my strength, my all." His bio in part reads: "Adam Young has been clear since his start in the music industry that although he is a devout Christian he does not want to be put in one box as far as his music goes, it is not Christian Pop, it is not Electronica, it is not Disco Pop, it isn't Synthetically Engineered it simply is music by Owl City."
