Chris Pratt Visits Roadshow Tour

Artists on the Roadshow tour entertained a very special guest last Sunday in Ontario, CA, when actor Chris Pratt came to see the show. In January, Chris Pratt introduced his 14.9 million Instagram followers to one of his favorite artists, Zach Williams, by sharing the Dove winner's song "Chain Breaker" in a video. To date the video has received over 2 million views. A representative from Merge PR shared with NRT, "From that post made in January, Chris and Zach connected, and Chris said he'd some see Zach at a show some time. So when the Roadshow tour hit the LA area this past Sunday night guess who came to the show to see Zach perform - Chris Pratt! He took some pics with a few other folks but the coolest part was he was there for Zach."

Zach Williams and Matthew West both shared photos taken with Chris to their Instagram pages: "Huge fan of this guy!" Matthew wrote. "Had a great time hanging with @prattprattpratt. Such a down to Earth dude!" Zach wrote. "Praying blessings over him and his career."

The Roadshow posted the photo of Williams and Pratt along with a few action shots of the show with the caption: "Oh, hey, Chris Pratt! Thanks for worshipping with us in Ontario. If you ever need help saving the world from dinosaurs or intergalactic outlaws, Zach Williams has your back. And we've got a VIP pass for you anytime you're in the neighborhood. Great hanging out with you for a bit. You were a real encouragement to us in the middle of a long tour. Thanks."

Check out theroadshowtour.com for upcoming shows near you. We can't guarantee that Starlord will be there, but some of his favorite artists will.

Chris Pratt Uses Zach Williams Song in Facebook Video

Zach Williams received some publicity recently when Chris Pratt used Zach's single "Chain Breaker" in a video:

Best known for his roles in Guardians of the Galaxy, Parks and Recreation, and Jurassic World, Pratt has historically been very vocal about his faith, going against the grain of Hollywood stereotypes. Despite his stardom, Pratt also enjoys the simple things in life, sharing a video montage of himself and his five-year-old son, Jack, living what Chris calls "#farmlife." The video features Chris and Jack feeding sheep and petting goats, with Williams' music as the soundtrack. Pratt ended the video with a slide of Psalm 126:2 which says, "Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, 'The Lord has done great things for them.'"

Pratt wrote, "Missing home, missing the farm, missing the boy, missing the island. So I'm sharing this video as a way to express my gratitude for all the blessings in my life and to entice any of you watching this who may feel unease or anxiety with the state of our world to just breathe, slow down, go outside, find something not man made and give it a good look. A leaf. A bug. A cloud. A sheep. As William Cullen Bryant says, 'Seek communion with her visible form....go forth under the open sky and list to nature's teachings.' What a beautiful creation over which we've been given the responsibility of stewardship."

Pratt gave a shoutout to Zach Williams and credited the song to him. He admitted, "I didn't get his permission to use it. Hope that's alright. Big fan Zach." Then added jokingly, "Please don't sue me for all my sheep."

'Jurassic World' Passes 'Avengers' For Biggest Opening Ever

The dinosaurs are definitively back on top after "Jurassic World" had a Tyrannosaurus-rex-sized opening that proved even bigger than expected.

The film brought in $208.8 million in its first weekend in theaters,  That's the highest-grossing opening weekend of all time.

"Marvel's The Avengers" had previously held the domestic opening weekend record. That film opened to $207.4 million in 2012.

Chris Pratt stars in the fourth installment of the popular "Jurassic" series. Internationally, the film grossed a similarly mighty $315.3 million, bringing its international total to a record $524.1 million.

'Jurassic World' star Chris Pratt a devout Christian

Jurassic World star Chris Pratt may run from dinosaurs, but he’s not running from public opinion.

The velociraptor expert and trainer is a vocal Christian, gun supporter, and hunting advocate who makes no apologies for his political and religious views.

That’s surprising for an actor who makes a living in the normally liberal town of Hollywood.

Most Hollywood conservatives have to hide in the basement and wait to express their beliefs during secret meetings of Friends of Abe Inc. The private political group was started ten years ago and keeps its membership private to prevent them being blackballed from the famously left-leaning industry, according to the New York Times.

Pratt, however, is a proud gun-toting, God-fearing actor who isn’t afraid to express his political and religious beliefs or let the world know how he feels. Maybe that’s why people love him so much.

Pratt is rumored to be Harrison Ford’s replacement as the next Indiana Jones, a role that would be great for him.

‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Hits More Box Office Milestones

Guardians of the Galaxy opened at the beginning of August, a traditionally less lucrative month for tentpole films. The lack of blockbuster competitors in the month actually worked in Marvel’s favor and Guardians launched to the largest August opening weekend of all-time. The real story is how long it held strong, dropping to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the following weekend but jumping back to the top slot for several consecutive weeks after.

It held onto that momentum in large part to positive reviews and word-of-mouth to become the third biggest Marvel movie ever in the U.S. (and biggest of the year) and the most successful Marvel franchise starter. Two months later and Guardians of the Galaxy finally opened in China last week to become the country’s largest October opening of all-time and in the U.S., 11 weeks in, the film is still outperforming The Avengers and The Dark Knight, along with all of the Spider-Man and X-Men movies.

With all of that in mind, it’s not really surprising at this point to see the film cross the $700 million mark at the worldwide box office. Captain America: The Winter Soldier also hit that milestone with an equally impressive success story earlier this year where it also set records opening in early April.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Astounds With $160.4 Mil Debut

“The Guardians of the Galaxy” touched down with a dazzling $94 million this weekend.

That set a new record for an August domestic debut, easily trumping the $69.3 million bow of 2007’s “The Bourne Ultimatum,” and scoring the third biggest stateside opening of the year. Overseas, the film netted an impressive $66.4 million in 42 territories, including Russia, Brazil, Mexico and the United Kingdom. It has brought in $160.4 million worldwide and still has many major markets left to open such as China, Australia, France and Spain.

The Walt Disney release blew past tracking that initially suggested a U.S. debut in the $65 million to $70 million range.

“It’s a testament to the momentum of the brand overall and all of the pieces just coming together in the right way,” said Dave Hollis, Walt Disney Studios’ executive vice president of theatrical distribution.

The distribution chief argued that part of the reason tracking was so off was that Disney saved 40% of its marketing for the final week before the film opened, allowing them to drive awareness for the picture at a critical point.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” represented a roll of the dice for the studio and its corporate parent, Walt Disney. It arrived with a production budget of $170 million (plus whatever it cost to market the interstellar heroes from one end of the planet to the other), but without the brand recognition of a Captain America or a Thor. It also debuted in August, traditionally a slower time for popcorn films.

Tapping James Gunn, a tongue-in-cheek auteur best known for low-budget enterprises such as “Slither” and “Super,” and Chris Pratt, the “Parks & Recreation” funny man, were offbeat choices that reaped dividends. The picture was hailed for its sense of humor, with critics rewarding it with a 96% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

“The movie is irreverent, the movie is rebellious and the movie is not a slick Hollywood-produced wrap everything up in bow kind of film,” said Greg Foster, chairman and president of Imax Entertainment.

Blasting off at the tail-end of summer was also a deft move. This summer has been a dreadful one for the movie business, with receipts down nearly 20% from last year’s record-breaker. But that meant that movie-goers were hungry for a broad, exciting, special effects-driven adventure after three months of blockbusters that weren’t.

Chris Pratt and Anna Faris drew closer to God as they prayed for their premature son

"Guardians of the Galaxy" star Chris Pratt said that he and wife, actress Anna Faris, drew closer to God after their son was born nine weeks premature.

The couple, who were married in July 2009, celebrated the birth of their first child in August 2012. Pratt said that although their son, Jack, is now healthy, his early delivery was frightening.

"We were scared for a long time," Pratt, 35, told PEOPLE on Wednesday. "We prayed a lot."

Jack spent one month in a neonatal intensive care unit while his parents and other family members prayed for him.

"It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it," Pratt said. "The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect."

Four months after the birth, Pratt reported that Jack was hitting his milestones and doing great.
