As Murray Slaughter, he wrote for airhead anchor Ted Baxter on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" for seven years. As Merrill Stubing, he captained the "Love Boat" for nearly a decade after that. Today, iconic TV actor Gavin Macleod says "I know who my admiral is," referring to his faith in God.
Macleod, 78, is a born again Christian now piloting a career in the Christian film industry, and starring in the movie "The Secrets of Jonathan Perry," which opens this weekend.
"I've worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, Cary Grant, Tony Curtis, Gregory Peck, Mary Tyler Moore," he told FOX News in an exclusive interview. "[But] the biggest honor I have ever had was to play the role of Jonathan Sperry in this simple but special film."

Joe Eszterhas Added As Keynote For Biola Media Conf.
In a rare public appearance writer Joe Eszterhas will be the keynote speaker of the 2009 Biola Media Conference. He has written sixteen films that have earned over a billion dollars at the box office.
Eszterhas’s life history is as tumultuous as his movies. From growing up in a refugee camp in Hungary after the Second World War, his life has included everything from abject poverty to unthinkable riches. Once called by Time Magazine “American’s king of sex and violence”, Eszterhas lived the true Hollywood bad boy life. Drinking, drugs, sex, violence, smoking were all part of his daily life. By 2001, the alcohol and smoking had nearly killed him and doctors had removed 80% of a cancerous larynx. Unable to change his ways, he cried out for God to help him. With his new book Crossbearer: A Memoir of Faith, Eszterhas explains the mystery and wonder of how God found him.

Fox Steps Up for 3rd Narnia Film
With Walt Disney Pictures no longer on board to help produce launch the third installment of the “Chronicles of Narnia” films, 20th Century Fox has reportedly stepped in to partner with Walden Media for the next title in the fantasy series.
As first reported by Variety magazine, Fox and Walden plan to split production and marketing costs for "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader," which is projected to go into production with a $140 million budget. Though the two companies are still working out budget and script issues, the hope is to shoot the film at the end of summer for a holiday 2010 release through the Fox Walden label.

Fireproof opens today
Fireproof, the new film by the Kendrick brothers, is opening today. IMDB is predicting a Top 10 opening. As previously mentioned, the film effectively uses music including Warren Barfield as seen here:

Josh Turner in new Graham film
Country artist Josh Turner will play George Beverly Shea in "Billy: The Early Years," a film about evangelist Billy Graham's start that's due out Oct. 10.
