Andy Mineo's Single "You Can't Stop Me" RIAA Certified Gold

Andy Mineo's colossal hit, “You Can’t Stop Me” recently moved the equivalent of more than 500,000 copies, which includes over 51 million streams to date, and is officially certified GOLD by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). According to Spotify data, of the 500,000 units required to make gold, their curated playlist, Beast Mode, is responsible for 100,000 of those units alone. The power of playlisting in the digital era continues to change the game for indie artists.

“I told my mom I went gold and she didn’t know what that meant and I was immediately humbled,” said Andy. “It’s Incredible we did this without any radio play. A small, dedicated team from Reach Records and Miner League gave this record all they had and the organic sharing of my fans started this wave. It shows that without my fans I wouldn’t be able to do this music thing for a living. Shout out to the playlist programmers who gave the record a chance. I’m thankful for everyone who believed, felt encouraged, and shared the record. I dedicate this to 11-year-old Braydon who made ‘You Can’t Stop Me’ his theme song for beating cancer, and everyone else who has used the song to push through tough times.”

Mineo wrote the song with Alex Medina and Gabriel Azucena (GAWVI), and Medina and GAWVI produced the track for Mineo’s Never Land EP. Since its release the song has garnered much attention, even winning ESPN’s coveted Whammy Award for best walk-up song in baseball. In 2017, the NBA’s Indiana Pacers announced they would be using the “You Can’t Stop Me” single as their official 2017/2018 theme song. The music video, released on January 16, 2015, has garnered more than 9 million views across social channels.

Winter Jam #4 of All World Tours

Once again ranking among the biggest first quarter tours in the world, the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular brought its 2017 Eastern U.S. run to a close earlier this month. Hitting a total of 46 cities from January through April, Winter Jam played to more than 27,000 people at Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, marking not only one of the tour’s largest crowds to date, but the last concert ever at the historic venue. In addition, sellouts continued at St. Louis' Scottrade Center; Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis; Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas; and the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, among numerous leading arenas.

Showcasing 10 Christian music artists, Winter Jam featured Crowder, Britt Nicole, Tenth Avenue North, Andy Mineo, Colton Dixon, Thousand Foot Krutch and NewSong.  The tour was also highlighted by a special appearance from “Duck Dynasty” television star Sadie Robertson, as well as a message from acclaimed author, speaker Tony Nolan.

An array of special guest artists and athletes appeared in various cities during Winter Jam’s first quarter outing, including Matthew West, Lauren Daigle; “Duck Dynasty’s” Willie & Korie Robertson; “American Idol” alum Danny Gokey, Francesca Battistelli, Jordan Feliz, Zach Williams, Atlanta Braves great Otis Nixon; Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley; and Nashville Predators captain Mike Fisher.

“This has been such a special year for Winter Jam,” said Eddie Carswell, tour creator and NewSong founding member. “The fantastic lineup, the packed arenas and the special guests who joined us made it an incredible tour, but the best part—as always—is seeing so many people come to Christ through this ministry each year.”

Casting Crowns, Andy Mineo Heading for Top 10 on Billboard 200

Casting Crowns is heading for top 10 debuts on the Billboard 200 chart next week.

Industry sources suggest that Casting Crowns' latest album, Thrive, may sell around 75,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, February 2. The album was released on January 28.

However, the CD, at this point, is not in contention for the No. 1 slot. The recently released "2014 Grammy Nominees" compilation is aiming for No. 1, with perhaps over 90,000 sold for the week. It's basking in the glow of its namesake awards show, which aired on January 26.

The top 10 of next week's Billboard 200 chart will be revealed on Wednesday, February 5.

Casting Crowns' last studio set, 2011's "Come to the Well," debuted and peaked at No. 2 -- marking the act's second album to peak in the runner-up slot. "Come to the Well" sold 99,000 in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. In total, the act has charted four top 10 sets, stretching back to 2005's "Lifesong," which debuted and peaked at No. 9.

"Thrive" will easily give Casting Crowns its sixth No. 1 album on the Christian Albums chart as well. It follows the group's previous leaders: "Come to the Well," "Until the Whole World Hears" (2009), "Peace On Earth" (2008), "The Altar and the Door" (2007) and "Lifesong."

The rest of the Building chart's top 10: Of Mice & Men is No. 3, while Beyonce's self-titled album is No. 4. Lorde's "Pure Heroine" is No. 5, Andy Mineo's "Never Land" is No. 6 and Casting Crowns is No. 7. Mineo will likely finish the week just outside the top 10, with perhaps 20,000.

(Casting Crowns is below Of Mice & Men on the Building chart, as a significant number of Casting Crowns' sales from Christian retailers are not represented in the Building chart. When the final chart is compiled next week, Casting Crowns should be well ahead of Of Mice & Men.)
