Esterlyn Singer To Star in New HGTV Show

The Esterlyn frontman Luke Caldwell and his business partner Clint Robertson are the focus of the new home improvement show, Boise Boys on HGTV, which premieres Sunday, May 21.

"I love how God directs our lives," Caldwell wrote in a post on social media. "When I first started playing music it was never to be in a band or in front of people. I just loved to worship and be creative in it and doors opened."

 He said the reality show has come about in a very similar way, noting that their remodeling company, Timber and Love, first began as a means to raise money for international adoption.

"I decided to buy a dumpy house, fix it up, and sell it, hoping to pay for the adoption costs." He said. "God gave us the desires of our hearts. From that time I have continued leading worship around the country as well as renovate homes while I was here in Boise, so we kept adopting."


A few years into renovating homes, Caldwell met Robertson (who himself was a runner-up on The Apprentice), and they started Timber and Love, a company they say has been "very focused on making a difference" with their lives and business.

Fixer Upper's Chip and Joanna Gaines Live Out Their Faith on Hit Show

While entertaining with their designs, shenanigans and renovation on their hit HGTV show "Fixer Upper," Joanna and Chip Gaines have won over the hearts of viewers.

Joanna and Chip take broken down but potential-rich houses and turn them into showpieces that are helping revitalize whole neighborhoods throughout central Texas.

The couple told the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, "Our family has made a commitment to put Christ first, a lifestyle our parents modeled for us very well. They showed us how to keep our marriage and family centered around God. As for 'Fixer Upper,' we have been surprised at the impact of our faith through the show. We haven't been overtly evangelical, but the rich feedback we have received on family and love all source from our faith. Jesus said the world would know His disciples by their love for one another, and we've glimpsed this in practice and strive for it every day."

The Gaines own Magnolia Homes, a remodeling and design business in Waco, Texas, that they have operated for years. In a video for Baylor University, the college in which both Chip and Joanna met at, Joanna shared her testimony. She revealed that it was not until she trusted God with her dreams that all of this success was able to come about.

Growing up as a biracial (Asian & white) child, proved to be very challenging for the now mother of 4. Joanna said that from an early age it was always her faith in God that gave her hope for the future.

According to multichannel.com "Fixer Upper" shattered multiple ratings records for the network in January, making the show one of the top 15 telecasts in HGTV history.

Recording artists and husband and wife duo Jaci Velasquez and Nic Gonzales are featured on the November 15 episode of DIY Network's Renovation Realities where they put their home renovation skills to the test. HGTV Pulls Upcoming Show Over Its Hosts' Beliefs

A recently green-lit reality series has been canceled by HGTV before its fall 2014 premiere after controversy erupted surrounding its hosts’ Christian viewpoints on issues like gay marriage and abortion.

Twin brothers Jason and David Benham were scheduled to appear on “Flip It Forward,” a renovation show that was set to feature them helping families make improvements to their homes.

But when some left-leaning media outlets began digging into their backgrounds and personal perspectives, everything changed.

HGTV quickly responded to media coverage earlier this week surrounding the Benham brothers’ views against gay marriage and abortion, among other issues, by first announcing a review of their arrangement with the brothers and then, within just a few days, axing the show altogether.

This information apparently led HGTV to cut ties with the brothers.

“HGTV is currently in process of reviewing all information about the Benhams and we will provide an update as soon as possible,” the network wrote on its Facebook page Tuesday evening after apparently learning about the controversy.

By Thursday the network had decided to completely cancel their arrangement with the Benhams, writing, “HGTV has decided not to move forward with the Benham Brothers’ series.”

According to an official description of “Flip It Forward,” the brothers, both fathers and real estate entrepreneurs, were set to put their sibling rivalry on display while they helped families transform fixer-upper homes.

Noting that his family didn’t try to hide their views from HGTV, Flip said that all parties knew controversy could end up erupting.
